President – USA Track & Field National Youth Track Coaches Association

Ron Williams has devoted countless hours over the past 36 years to the development of youth in the sport of Track and Field. His mission has always been to provide youth student-athletes the opportunity to maximize their individual talent in the area of track and field while preparing themselves to succeed in life through acquiring higher education. In1984, Ron founded the D.C. Express Track Club which continues to promote his vision to this day.

The D.C. Express Track Club program, with Ron as head coach, has won an impressive number of USATF Youth Individual and Team Championships in sprints, hurdles, throws, distance and jumps.

He has received numerous accolades as well as positions of leadership within USA Track & Field, USA Track & Field Georgia and the community. 

It is impossible to list them all, however here are just a few highlights:

1986-87 Volunteer Assistant Coach for Georgia Tech Women’s Program

1995 “Coach of the Year” – USATF Georgia Award of Excellence

1996 USATF Youth Committee "Frank Sevigne Award" recipient for outstanding contribution to Youth Athletics

Field of Play Marshall and Warm-up Track Coordinator @Olympic Stadium/Summer Olympic Games and US Olympic Trials

Manager of the Mixed Zone for the Para-Olympic Games

2001 Head Coach – IAAF World Youth Athletics Track and Field Championships – 1st Place (of 166 countries), Debrecen, Hungary (1st USA World Youth Team Championship)

2002 “Coach of the Year” – USATF National Youth Track Coaches Association (South Zone)

2007 Judo Brown Outstanding Dedication Award – Atlanta Track Club

2008-09 “Coach of the Year” (Female Sport) – Henry County/Stockbridge High School

2009 Assistant Manager/Relay Coach – IAAF World Youth Championships, Bessanone, Italy (USATF World Championship)

2012 USATF National Youth Chair’s Award

2014 “Coach of the Year” – USATF National Youth Track Coaches Association (South Zone)

Head Coach – Team USA/Youth Olympic Team – 2nd Youth Summer Olympic   Games – Nanjing, China

USATF Georgia President’s Award

Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Region Assistant Coach of Year (Stephenson High School)

2016 Men’s Head Manager for Team USA, North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association U23 Championships, San Salvador, El Salvador
